A new tomorrow is definitely upon the wirkd of hardcore and music as a whole with this massive debut from Zulu. Eclectic doesn't even scratch the surface for this well-crafted and beautiful album from Zulu. From hardcore, powerviolence, jazz, rap, or Afrocentric music, they have really broken all the things that make them unique and proudly displayed them to the world. When it’s heavy, it’s fucking heavy, from chuggy guitars to blistering drums and refreshing vocal performances. When it’s light, it’s warm, and the songs are thoughtfully weaved into this future classic of an album. The production hits on every track, from a soft spoken word track to a hard-hitting banger. The mixing and transitions on this album are well crafted and flow like a soothing river to a ranging whirlpool. Nothing here sounds the same or feels the same. It’s go, go, go throughout this album. With short runtimes, these tracks make you want more, and that's a good takeaway from this album.
