As the leaves change and the weather gets cold, the undead punks the twitchfits arise and strike again with their newest patch of cover songs. The hardcore band turned punks for one night if the year are paying homage to one of their biggest influences, and again, its pretty good. This time around, instead of a short EP of covers, they have gone the route of fleshing out a full 10 tracks of covers. With the former cover EP having all the well-known Misfits songs that most will know and this one having more deeper cuts, there does feel like a slight shift in sound. These tracks are not the most standout of the Misfits career and don’t pack as much of a punch as the tight flow of Vol. 1. The production on the album is good, and their band sounds great, but there seems to be a bit of an emptiness in the songs at times. However, the times when it doesn't feel empty are when the main vocalist is doing a great job of singing his heart out. Songs like “Saturday night” have such a deep and big feel with him belting out those words Saturday night over and over. The vocals have improved a lot from the other episode and just carry this album so far. Also on the song "bullet," the vocals are hitting the right spot with their enunciation and their big, bold style of singing here. The album has a good punk vibe from the tight and deep drumming. Tracks like “We Are 818" (great lyric change) have some really tight playing. Occasionally the drums spice things up with some nice tasteful drum fills, like on “some kind of hate." At times the drums, though, can feel a bit drowned out. The bass playing is doing well to sound very punk with their deep hypnotic and hard tuning, like on “London Dungeon” and “She.”. The riffs are doing solid work to replicate that old punk sound with their fast playing, like on “one kind of hate” and “death cones ripping." There were a few moments where the riffs felt a bit flat. It's a solid follow-up to their original idea of covering one of the most iconic punk bands. However, it doesn’t seem to match up with the intensity of the original with the extra amount of songs.
