It might be called shame, but honestly, there’s a kind of twisted joy in it that I can’t shake off. “Massive” doesn’t even begin to capture how enormous this new album from Meth truly is. It’s not just an album—it’s a relentless, sonic assault. The sound envelops you like a tidal wave, yet somehow, it never feels overproduced or abrasive in a way that makes you want to turn it off. Instead, it’s captivating, pulling you deeper into its raw energy. I can’t recall another album in recent memory that’s completely consumed me in such a pure, immersive way, slowing down time and pulling me on a journey I never expected to take.

The guitars are thick, sludgy, and drenched in distortion, blasting you with riffs that are as heavy as they are hypnotic. The vocals are equally dynamic, shifting between the ferocity of a madman howling at the moon and moments of eerie tenderness that feel almost intimate. The bass? It’s so heavy it might as well be dragging the weight of a black hole through the speakers, adding another layer of depth to this already crushing sound. And then there are the drums—each beat feels monumental, either building a sense of impending doom with their slow, methodical thud or unleashing rapid-fire blasts of chaotic energy that keep you on edge.

The real magic of this album, though, lies in the way it builds tension. These aren’t just slow, atmospheric songs; they are meticulously constructed to keep you on the edge of your seat, anticipating the next twist or shift. Even in moments that might otherwise be considered “quiet” or drawn-out, every second feels charged with potential, every note creeping toward an explosive release. It’s a delicate balance, one that could easily tip into monotony in less skilled hands, but here, Meth knows exactly how to keep you hooked, ready for whatever comes next.

What really stands out is the production. It’s some of the best I’ve heard this year—rich, layered, and perfectly suited to the band’s massive, dense sound. There’s a precision here that allows the chaos to feel controlled, purposeful, and never too overwhelming. This is an album that commands your attention and will likely end up as a serious contender for record of the year. It’s rare to find something this bold, this unrelenting, yet so expertly crafted. You don’t just listen to it—you experience it.
