Return to Mar Music Reviews 2023
72 Seasn is what some people might need to warm up to this new Metallica album. It's a Metallica album, for sure, with those classic thrashy, souring guitar solos, rough and tough lyrics, and smilp chunky drums. Overall, the album is not bad. It gives just slightly above average vibes. The production on this album is phenomenal, as expected from one of the richest bands in the world. They should be able to always produce good supporting work without issues with their budget. I hate to say this about the Kings of Thrash, but at times I did snooze a bit while listening to this album. However, that happened only like twice. Most of the songs are fun to listen to, and a few grabbed my attention, like the song "If darkness had a son." If you are a fan of Metallica, you will find one or two tracks you will really like here, but most might not keep these songs in their playlist rotation that much. I think the strongest part of this album are the lyrics, like on the songs "Screaming Suicide" and "You Must Burn!" These guys aren't completely out of the genre, just yes, and I think it's a decent album.
