Maelstrom - Justice Deserved Review

Be prepared for the monstrous storm that is the band Maelstrom. From the marauder-like riffs, terror-style vocals, and crowbar-like heaviness, this band is ready to bring the storm and more with them. From the get-go, this band establishes itself as a heavy band and is here for business with their dense and chuggy riffs and hard-pounding drums. They are able to show how their groovy style and heavy hitting soubd in such a short jntro with “justice served." Then, as the EP progresses, you get some slick, groovy, and well-played riffs in “iron sharpens iron." And the riffs only get faster and harder as the EP goes along. The drums sound massive and beat so hard they bring out that primal rage in you like on “fight fire with fire." The doubke kicks here have a nice little twang to give them so extra dazzle. Then the vocals feel like they are pulled straight from the Terrors playbook and sound hard as fuck, and not just the main vocals but the backing vocals also add a lot of weight to the songs. The bass, for the most part, is very subtle and adds some weight to the songs, but they do give it some proper time to play, and they do it at the tight time, and thats right around the breakdown. The breakdowns on this episode sound massive and disgusting in the best way. Which I think gets a lot of help from how the ep is mixed and mastered because this ep sounds amazing. The shirt and well-paced songs with great production and great energy. What more could you ask for?!?
