One of the few bands I had a chance to review a second time, and I'm happy to have done that. Fly Over States has come back with a new episode that is tighter, more cohesive, and better produced here. They took that post-hardcore sound they were trying to recreate so much with their first episode and made it their own. They had the right energy and sound to sound like themselves while still paying homage to that older sound. The biggest thing is that the song arrangements feel more thought-out and structured. They got lighter and tighter riffs here that you couldn't help but bob your head to them. The drumming has some good fills and punchiness, but at times it does get drowned out in the mix, but not enough to warrant a big issue. Unfortunately, the bass felt very lost in the mix most of the time. The vocals seem to have improved a lot and sound more bold and mature than before. The vocals really work well with this post-hardcore style being played here. Yeah, it's nothing amazing, but it's a solid improvement for these guys.
