If you’ve been feeling disconnected from hardcore lately and need something to reignite that spark, Salt might be just the band to do it. Their latest EP is a quick but potent dose of energy, clocking in at just over five minutes. Despite its brevity, every second feels purposeful—there’s no filler, no excess. The band had a vision, and they executed it with precision, delivering a tight and satisfying listen.

Salt brings a refreshingly catchy and almost pop-infused take on hardcore, striking a balance between aggression and groove. The riffs hit hard, the drums are punchy, and the mixing is crisp, ensuring that nothing feels out of place or overdone. The moment the first track kicks in, you can’t help but nod along—there’s an undeniable groove woven throughout the EP that keeps you hooked. Some of the guitar work even carries a strong Eighteen Visions influence, blending metallic edge with infectious rhythms.

That said, the only real weak spot is the vocals. They feel somewhat hollow, lacking the weight and conviction that could really push the emotional impact further. It’s as if the vocalist isn’t fully connecting with the words, which slightly dulls the intensity of an otherwise stellar effort.

Still, for such a compact release, this EP delivers plenty to love. It’s a short but rewarding listen, one that any hardcore fan can throw on and instantly enjoy. Salt may not reinvent the wheel, but they sure know how to make it spin with style.
