Millennial-core. This is a very self-aware band and knows how to play into their demogrpahic from their song titles, lyrics, and playing style. They took what they learned from middle/hhigh school (dance gavin dance, the fall of Troy, chiodos, etc.) and repackaged that style of music into an updated version of post-hardcore. They got lyrics that make no sense and are so self-aware of themselves that they don’t come off bad or cringe; they are simply fun, and everyone is having a good time. The guitars are super "weedly weedly," but not to the point of overdoing them. They are very technical but not boring. The drumming on here is simply solid. Nothing too flashy, just tight and knows its role well. The bass on here is freaking dope with how cool and smooth it is. The unlcean vocals are pretty tight for this record; they never ever really feel strained or overdone. He has good control of his screams, and that is impressive. The clean vocals, however, do fall flat or sound weird sometimes, and it can throw things off a bit. This album is mostly fun music that plays homage to a lot of their influences. Nothing grand or new being made here, just solid and fun music for aging millennials like myself.
