From the very first track of this EP, I felt like I was walking into a pain clinic. The opening was so rough and disorienting that I wasn’t sure if the song was meant to be a joke or if it was actually serious. The production on the instruments was raw, the vocals were strange and offbeat, and the lyrics had me second-guessing if this was the kind of music I was in the mood for. Honestly, it made me a major skeptic about the rest of the EP. But by the end of it, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I had enjoyed the progression. It was like watching a band evolve in real-time, going from an unpolished, almost chaotic sound to something much more focused, powerful, and intense.
Each song on this EP felt like a level-up. They started off a bit rough, but by the time I reached the later tracks, it was clear that the band had honed their sound. The guitars became tighter and beefier, the drums more relentless, and the overall energy more aggressive and serious. They definitely weren’t messing around by the end. The standout element for me was the drumming—there was something about the intensity and precision of the beats that truly captured my attention. It gave the music a backbone that carried the rest of the sound forward.
What’s even more impressive is the evolution of the vocals. By the final track, the vocal delivery had fully come into its own, embracing a raw, powerful energy that the earlier tracks lacked. It felt like the vocalist had fully found their voice, and the impact was undeniable. The production, too, seemed to improve with each song, with a more polished, deliberate sound that showed the band wasn’t just experimenting—they were perfecting their craft as the EP progressed.
I have to give a shoutout to Jamie from Code Orange for mentioning this band on Hardlore, which is how I discovered them in the first place. Without that shoutout, I might have never given this EP a second listen, and that would have been a shame because this band has a lot of potential. While the first song left me doubting, by the end of the EP, I was sold on their growth and the direction they’re heading. It’s an exciting listen, one that starts off rough but transforms into a powerful, dynamic experience that showcases their true potential. The evolution over the course of just a few tracks is impressive, and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on what comes next for them.
