The boys in Oasis really cooked up something interesting with this album. Ranging from large rock anthems to depressing acoustic songs to love ballad songs, After releasing two of the biggest albums in their careers, this follow-up does a good job of at least being on the same level as those in terms of a musically enjoyable experience. The lyrics are the strongest here, talking about love, drugs, and depression in a very straight-forward way. The vocals from the brothers are well balanced throughout the effort, minus a few moments of buried vocals. The guitars are simple and layered lower in the mix, but they do their job well. The drumming in the heavier songs gets kind of drowned out, but the lighter songs sound great. The bass is the nicest part of this album for me. I love how vibrant it feels. I feel the creative juices seem to be still flowing well in this band, except for one song where they had an unnecessary clapping in the background that just really ruined the song for me. This is a very enjoyable album from a great band with great human chemistry.
