For never listening to this album in its entirety and knowing how influential it is, I was a little underwhelmed. It was much slower of an album than what I was expecting knowing the lead singles "Rockstar" and "Lapdance". However, even though it was a slower and more groove-oriented album, I get why it has been influential to so many people. Sonically, it has a lot of different sounds, from punk to funk to hip-hop. It has a large collection of interesting ideas. I think the one thing that got me was how high energy and catchy the singles were to this album, and most of the tracks on the album are fun but not too memorable. The production has held up really well. All the tracks sound fantastic. I will say that in this day and age of most people crossing over and listening to multiple genres, these guys need to be thanked in terms of bridging that gap to make it okay to listen to multiple genres.
