Megan Thee Stallion - Megan Review

Return to Music Reviews 2024

The hottest female rapper in the last decade is coming out pissed and ready on this new album, titled Megan. Megean the stallion has a few words to say to the instigators, doubters, and overall haters she has accumulated over the years, and she isn't holding back. She is clapping back at everything that has happened to her recently, whether that's court dates with former musicians, online haters, or anyone who thinks she doesn’t deserve the spot she has gained for herself. Her bars and flow are quite impeccable on this record. She's going in on each beat and matching the ferocity of the beat or the mildness of the beat. She truly has a talent when it comes to enunciating and making her words sound crystal clear. The world play, oh, this record is quite good, like on “hiss” and “down stars DJ." Another fantastic thing about this record is the samples she uses here. From Gwen Stefani and/or Japanese anime-inspired beats, she brings in these samples so subtly it takes you a minute to realize you have heard the beat from somewhere else, but it's so slick and clean you can't help but be impressed. The features on here are utilized in a great fashion tocshownsoke texas prode with ugk on a track to have some silky sexy r n b vocals with vitcora monét or some international help from Yuki Chiba. Whether good or bad, the features help keep your attention on the record. There are a few weaker tracks on this album, but for the most part, it's a cohesive, deadly, and enjoyable album from the stallion itself, Megan.
