Keep It Real - Promo 2024 Demo Review

These guys are definitely keeping it real with this little promo they dropped this year. Heavy and hard (sometimes simple) riffs fill this short promo nicely, with some simple drumming and some nice fills here and there. The guitars range from sounding simple to heavy and have a good tuning to them. The drums do have some snappiness to them and have some cool drum fills. The bass in the intro is very thick and dirty; however, in the rest of the episode, it gets drowned out a lot, so you don’t hear much of that dirty sound, and that's a shame. The most impressive thing here is the vocals, because you have an assortment of hardcore vocals, death metal vocal fried, slam-style gutturals, some pig squeals, and even spoken word. This guy can do it all. The production is done nicely with the mixing and layering of all the instruments, minus the bass. The only thing I can say negatively is that nothing really stands out creatively. They are well-made songs, but nothing you haven't heard before, but damn, does it sound good?

RATING: 8/10
