I really hope these aren’t Injustice's final words, because I believe this band has the potential to do much better than what’s presented here. What we have on this EP is some straightforward hardcore that fails to bring anything new or exciting to the table. Sure, the beats are heavy and chuggy, but they feel overly simple and lack the kind of spark that would make them memorable. It feels like they’re trying too hard to create that slow, punishing rhythm that gets you ready to throw down in the pit—but instead, the repetitive riffs just make you feel worn out without the energy or excitement you'd expect from a hardcore track.
Then there are the vocals, which are a major point of frustration. The clean and unclean vocals seem unsure of themselves, as though the vocalist is holding back. There’s a lack of confidence in their delivery, and it hampers the impact of the songs. It almost sounds like the vocalist is scared to fully commit to the sound, and that hesitation affects the energy of the tracks. On top of that, the mixing of the gang vocals doesn’t do them any favors. They just don’t sound as cohesive as they should, further contributing to the overall lack of punch.
Now, I don’t want to dive straight into all the negatives right away, so I’ll mention the good stuff too. The drumming on this EP stands out as one of the stronger elements. The drummer does a great job of adding some dynamic flair to the tracks, using hi-hats and cymbals to bring an extra layer of interest to the rhythm. It helps elevate the songs and gives them more texture, which is something that the rest of the instrumentation sometimes lacks.
And on the subject of vocals, the deep, harsh gutturals are a real highlight here. When the vocalist shifts into those guttural growls, they sound confident, powerful, and in control. It’s like there are two different singers at play here—one who lacks the confidence for the clean vocals, and another who completely owns the harsh, guttural side of things. If they could find a way to bring that same intensity and control to the clean vocals, it could really elevate the overall sound.
This EP definitely has its missteps, but I believe Injustice has the potential to pull it together and create some truly hard-hitting, interesting music in the future. They’ve got the foundation—they just need to fine-tune the execution.
