They want revenge for every minute lost here, but you will be more than happy with every minute spent listening to this catchy, well-made punk split from empire down and liberty and justice. Empire Down blends oi, punk, and hardcore very easily on their side of the album. The songs are so light and catchy that you are instantly drawn in by their unique sound. From their mesmerizing riffs to their sharp and punk voice and their groovy drums. Throw in some solid production as well, because the layering of all the instruments sounds just right and nothing sounds too blown out. Very balanced production. They remind me of comeback kids if they had a lighter sound. Solid songs from a solid band. Then we have Liberty and Justice, who are more of a traditional-sounding, old-school punk band. With really raspy vocals and heavy-tuned riffs, these punk veterans sound good. They might not be as catchy, but their playing is very solid and makes up for their sound. They do a lot of experimenting with their sound, and a lot of their songs are different, ranging from fast punk to slow punk, so they take some creative chances, which is nice. The drums, for the most part, are simple and in the pocket, but when they go in and go hard, the drumming does a great job. The bass on here is really good and thick. The vocals are unique and different, but when they do gang vocals, sometimes they get a bit buried in the mix, and in the last song, the vocals seemed to be off timing a lot of the time, which made the song sound weird. Fun and unique experience with liberty and justice.
