Dead Chant is a South Korean indie band that is somewhat alive but somewhat dead on this episode. The indie bad has a sadness to it that I kind of like with how melancholy their songs sound. However, the vocals from the male singer really do feel dead at times, or really just lacking energy. All of his parts felt like he didn't want to be there and record and sing. Like he was forced to sing. When compared to the female vocals. Her charm and voice really stand out against his low energy performance. Now if this is what the band was going for, it succeeded in that, but if not, the guy could have a bit more energy to him. 3 out if the 4 songs have a similar vibe to them. Low-sounding riffs and stiff drumming. They sound okay, but they don't stand out that well. They are written well, just not so memorable until the ends of the songs where they mix the vocals or have some more dynamic playing. So the songs kind of balance themselves out with how they start off just so-so but end up ending on a good note.
