Next Gen is an apt description for Bring Me The Horizon’s latest album, as the band seems to be pushing their sound into uncharted territory, exploring new sonic landscapes with both ambition and success. Once known as a deathcore band, Bring Me The Horizon has undergone numerous transformations over the years, constantly evolving and experimenting with different genres. Yet, in this latest offering, they manage to retain elements of their past while boldly stepping into new realms. With this album, the Sheffield-based band has ventured deep into hyper-pop territory, crafting a unique blend of hyper-metal and hyper-emo music.

This shift feels organic for them, as they’ve always embraced change in their sound, and when they do change, they commit to it fully. It’s this fearless approach that allows them to create music that feels fresh and forward-thinking. Tracks like "die4u," "lost," and "youtopia" exemplify this perfectly. Each of these songs stands out so vividly that you can't help but be drawn in, often catching yourself singing along to their infectious hooks. There’s a sense of nostalgia woven throughout the album, too, as they tap into elements of post-hardcore, deathcore, and even ‘90s grunge, paying homage to the genres that influenced them while making something distinctly their own.

The production on the album is another highlight. The dense, multi-layered sound ensures that no instrument feels neglected or buried under the mix. Everything has its place, and the result is a harmonious yet powerful sound. The drums have a sharp, punchy quality, the guitar riffs come through with a hefty, weighty presence, and the bass carries a satisfying thickness that adds depth. The intensity of the backing elements is unmistakable, but it’s all done with taste and precision, never feeling excessive. The vocals, too, are a standout, transitioning smoothly between clean and unclean styles. There are a few moments where the vocal delivery feels slightly awkward, but these are minor hiccups in an otherwise stellar performance.

Ultimately, this album is a blast, and it marks a new chapter for Bring Me The Horizon. It’s the kind of record that feels like a bold foundation for a new era of music—a new style that others may soon try to emulate. With this release, they’ve not only embraced change, but they’ve also crafted something memorable that could set the tone for the genre moving forward.
