Atarashio gakko! Has to be One of the funniest and oddest music groups I've come across in the past few years. This new album from them doesn’t shy away from the oddness of these girls, but most importantly, how funny they are. You think their weird gimmick with their Japanese school uniforms and weird dance moves would be the only entertaining thing here, but these girls can make some good music. With songs ranging from bumping beats to make you want to work out to poppy throwback vibes to the 80s city pop scene to chilling godzilla-esque big anthm vibes, these girls bring a nice variety to their music for this album. They have a nice variety on here of music that makes listening to this album genuinely fun. Another big factor that makes this album great is the energy. The way the girls sing and talk on her feels so energetic. You can tell that they really are engaged in their music, and so they are putting a lot into their performances here. With that energy, you get some great harmonization on here and some catchy hooks that will get you singing along in no time, whether you speak Japanese or not. I will say at times the goofy voices they do can throw off a great-sounding song because they joked a little too hard. However, I will say the thing that really makes this album stand out is the production. The girls voices are mixed and layered so well that they sound great on each track. They sound like they are sitting next to you, getting you pumped up for your next adventure. These girls are funny for sure, but they clearly have many talents to them because of this impressive album that was crafted.
