One of the most exciting and innovative bands in metal right now, 200 Stabb Wounds has just released an absolute powerhouse of an album with Manual Manic Procedures. This band is part of the new wave of death metal that’s shaking up the genre by blending diverse musical influences and experiences into their sound—and one of the most defining elements of their style is hardcore. They're not just playing death metal, they're reimagining hardcore riffs and breakdowns, infusing them with death metal’s brutal tuning and intensity.

This fusion of hardcore and death metal is incredibly refreshing, giving 200 Stab Wounds a distinct edge and setting them apart from the crowded landscape of modern death metal bands. Their music has a unique groove, a fluidity that makes it stand out, and the heavy, aggressive parts are guaranteed to get the crowd going wild. Whether you’re moshing in the pit or just headbanging along, these guys will make you lose your mind.

The band's evolution as musicians is evident throughout this album, particularly in their guitar work. Their playing is faster, sharper, and more technical, all while still paying homage to the pioneers of death metal. The riffs are relentless, blending precision with chaotic energy that’s both exciting and aggressive. It’s clear they’ve studied the greats, and they’ve taken that inspiration to push themselves even further. The drumming is tight, aggressive, and in the pocket. For the most part, the drumming is top-notch, with a great sense of urgency that drives each track forward. However, on the track “Ride the Flatline,” the drumming feels a bit less tight, a slight dip in what is otherwise a flawless performance. Still, this is only a brief moment and doesn’t detract from the overall impact of the album. The rest of the time, the drumming sounds enormous—pounding with intensity and precision that elevates the entire record.

The vocals are just as brutal as ever, and while they haven’t noticeably improved or changed, that’s not a bad thing. Their guttural growls and savage screams continue to deliver a raw, menacing power that perfectly complements the chaos happening in the music. They’re still as intense and ferocious as ever, providing the perfect vocal anchor for their aggressive, hybrid sound.

With Manual Manic Procedures, 200 Stab Wounds proves they’ve honed their craft, refining and expanding upon their unique blend of hardcore and death metal. They’ve managed to capture the raw intensity of both genres while making something fresh and exciting. It’s clear they’ve pushed themselves to evolve as a band, and the result is an album that’s as punishing as it is innovative. These guys are carving out their own path, and it’s one that’s sure to leave a lasting mark on the metal scene. 200 Stab Wounds has not only perfected their craft but also made it their own, and this album is a testament to their relentless pursuit of musical excellence.
