Solve et coagula in Latin means to dissolve and coagulate. It's a way of saying something needs to be broken down and reformed anew. The band hexing Vex might need tonsolve et coagula because the music they are making here needs to be rethought and done over. From very generic riffs to weird vocal performances, this band doesn't really impress you too much. A lot of their sound feels extremely lacking energy in the first half of the album. I think a lot of it has to do with the production because the sound of the songs sounds so lackluster. The drums sound very low energy, the riffs have no bite to their sound, and the vocals sound unenthusiastic. The second half of the album has better production and a greater sense of passion. Outside of the band's own sound and production, a lot of the songs feel like weird covers of bigger bands like Metallica. Instead of paying homage to them, they feel more like straight rippoffs. The songs feel really bloated and repetitive. The tracks with shorter run times feel more fleshed out and polished than their bigger songs. solve et coagula, hexing vex, and try again another time.
