Who is the Soju Queen? Shes the Mutha Fuckin Samurai Princess of South Korea, and she is here to shake the ground and swallow us all up, whether you like it or not. This Korean trap rapper is here to bring some booming, hard-af, and unique music to the masses. When I say unique, she has done a good job at crafting an album that has very distinctive-sounding songs that all sound different from one another. Some are hard trap-influenced songs with chill, dreamy, or weird robotic sounds; all the sounds good and bad here are unique, and I really like that. It makes for a fun and interesting listen. With how the songs sound, the only issue I had was the volume on the bass. It makes me think these are all supposed to be club bangers because of the hard-hitting bass (which I understand), but at times the bass is so overpowering that it drowns out her vocals or other instruments and makes things a bit distracting. Speaking of vocals, for most of the album, she tries different vocal styles and keeps things refreshing with her style of rap. However, at times her vocals can seem very uninteresting and lackluster, like in the song “Genie.”. The guest vocals are either really good or just sound bad and throw off the songs. Like on “dirty Asia," everything was amazing until the guest vocals came in and just tanked the song. However, the songs “cleopatra” and “karma” utilized the guest vocals so well that they made the song way better. The lyric content is nothing too thought-provoking but fits this style of trap and hard-hitting rap. It was a very fun listening experience with just some overzealous production choices.
