Softcult has likely gained a new follower with their enchanting blend of soft, whimsical shoegaze-style music. From the very first note, I found myself completely immersed in the dreamy atmosphere they've crafted, which is beautifully complemented by their deeply intimate lyrics and subdued instrumental approach. The lyrics stand out as the most powerful aspect of this track, particularly for their raw honesty and emotional depth. They address heavy themes like sexual assault, abuse in relationships, and the guilt of being a harmful person to someone. These words feel like a true emotional release from the writers, and their vulnerability is palpable. It's nearly impossible to listen to this song without being moved by what’s being conveyed.

Musically, the structure of the song is simple yet effective, with the drums playing a gentle, almost background role and the guitars offering a soothing, chilled-out vibe. The real standout, though, is the bass. The depth and richness of the bass are impossible to ignore—it adds a certain weight to the track that perfectly complements the overall atmosphere. The production is solid, with a good balance throughout, though there are a few moments where the vocals are drenched in effects, making it a bit challenging to catch every word. That said, the vocals themselves are delivered clearly and with great strength. The singers absolutely have the chops for this style of music, and they execute it with confidence and emotional clarity.

This is a style of music that's both refreshing and raw, with an easy, almost hypnotic quality that makes it perfect for hitting repeat. It's the kind of track that feels honest and cathartic, offering both an emotional release and a captivating listening experience.
