Shogun - Execution Style Review

Prepare for precise execution from the band shogun on this ep. This thrash hardcore band is here to bring you some of the tightest drumming and thrashy riffs in the game. The drumming on here is well paced and packs a good punch. The snare snaps really well, and the double kicks are carefully placed throughout this ep to really help give the songs some extra dazzle to them. The riffs are really impressive here because they have a lot of groove to them, and with each song, the riffs have a distinctive and different thrash feel on each song. The guitars sound really heavy and fun to listen to on this Ep. The bass starts a bit overwhelming by causing a weird buzzing sound. However, as the ep goes along, they pull the bass back, and so it feels more balanced later in the EP. Once they do this, the bass really feels great and thick. The vocals from all the guest vocals fit tightly into the ep. At times they sound better than the main vocals. The main vocals aren't bad, but it feels like they could be turned up more because they seem a bit low in the mix. The production and mixing could be worked on, but like on the vocals and making some parts a bit too loud, they don't really drag the ep down that much. Another thing I would point out is how the songs feel so densely packed but have a short runtime. They know how to write songs and know how to not make them feel bloated and pointless. Precise execution style, from the shogun!
