Return to Mar Music Reviews 2023
The newest effort by the boys in sang is truly a drug trip down the world of Intese savage death metal. From the heavily distorted and intense guitar work to the snappy snare of the drums to the deepest guttrals on the market, these boys are here to bring the suffering. I would say the guitar work has improved in terms of adding some new texture and feel to their songs. The production sounds no different from previous albums they have put out. It’s neither good nor bad. Let's say they like the sound they have made for themselves. The lyrical content is surprisingly refreshing in the world of death metal. More self-harm and less harm towards women. Progression lol. Some tracks can feel bloated at times, but at the same time, some tracks offer so much brutality that you can’t help but want more. There have been a few adjustments to their formula in songs like "A Lesson in Savagery" and "Skin Cushion." I don’t think they have taken too many risks with this album in terms of variety in the tracks. They are here to just improve on what they know best: nasty death metal.
