Oh boy. I have a lot of love for a fellow San Antonio citizen, but I'm going to have to go in on our guy Hoodlum. Let's get the bad out of the way. This man's vocals are next to impossible to fully understand and hard to listen to. He sounds like a kid breathing through his mouth and with snot in his nose while trying to rap. His whisper style of rap tries to be cool but just sounds terribly wretched. Out of 19 tracks, maybe 2-3 tracks had listenable vocals from him. I later found out he raps with his grills on, and that might play a factor in his bad vocal performance. Next is his lyrical content. In the year of 2023 rap, it’s really easy to fall into cliche rap lyrics with the over saturation of rap these days. Money, bitches, lean, etc.—nothing new is being brought to the lyrical table, and it’s painful to get through. Now that the bad is over, let's get to the good. The beats and samples he has to offer here are the saving grace on like 70% of the album. Whoever he is using as a producer, keep them around because they are quite talented with the different sounds and arrangements they used on this album. Finally, let's talk the feats. Paul Wall was the star of this album/ssavior of this album. His feat just showed how a veteran MC knows how to work with the well-produced track. Most of the feats were good, except from Valerie. That entire song and feat was possibly the lowest point on the album.

RATING: 4.5/10
