Saviors might be a song for this new Green Day album, but it could be a lot worse. For aband 30 years into their career to still put out some decent work, I got to say thats impressive. This new album does a decent job at bringing Green Day back to more of their older sound. We don’t have a large album that has all the songs interconnected. Here we have a collection of punk and punk-pop songs that tap into what made Green Day become the big name band they are now. We got some good riffing throughout this album. Nothing too new or flashy, but still very solid. The drumming on here sounds really tight and has the most interesting parts on most songs. The bass is mixed in well, does it’s job well, and holds things down. The production and playing on this album are good. Years of experience and working with top producers helped them craft a great-sounding record. The downside to this album is that about half of the songs seem just okay to a bit forgettable. Sometimes the songs are almost too bland and simple. The other songs got some fire and passion to them and got some of that old green day fire in them. It’s not a genre-defining album like 'dookie,' but it’s also not a horrible album.
