It may be called Brat, but I would say it's more of a beast of an album. Charli is able to make some infectious songs that cross the lines of old and new so easily. She has created an album that feels like a 90s/2000s techno/trance album but at the same time feels like modern pop music at the same time. She has been able to craft some songs that just make you want to dance all night and more. The beats are so great to listen to on this album, and they sound well crafted. Nothing sounds overproduced, overwhelming, and even better, underwhelming. Like on the songs “360” or “Sympathy is a Knife,” you get some hard banging tracks with some great vocals on top that just take you over and make you want to dance hard and all night long. Her vocals on this album vary from soft spoken singing to auto-tuned high-flying singing. The way she says her words and puts effort into her singing is quite impressive. You can tell she really put in effort and had fun making this album. Surprisingly, there is only one bad track on this album, and it suffers from just weird production choices and repetitive singing. Another thing that works well with these songs is the pacing and time. The songs are short and easy to digest and make you listen a couple times over, and before you know it, you are hooked on that track. It's an album that everyone will enjoy a few more tracks than they think they will.
