Life is quite shitty, and that is the message Bodysnatcher wants to convey to you on this new episode. With talks about depression, contempt for humans, betrayals, and drugs infesting your life, this band is lyrically doing their part to try and make things better in the world with their style of death metal songs. The lyrics on this album might be the biggest highlight with how personal and tragic they are. A great example of that is on the track “Murder8." With the line “Fentenyal made me an only child," this might be the hardest callout before a breakdown this year in the metal genre. Now the lyrics are by far the best thing on this episode, but the rest of it is not the greatest. The band itself unfortunately feels very generic and dated. You get some big sound riffs, nasty vocals, and drums, but they all feel like they are pulling from a 2010’s local deathcore band. The breakdowns sound big but don't have any feeling to them, so they just sound heavy to be heavy and just fall flat. The vocals are heavy, but like most of the time, they sound the same, so they feel a bit tamed. The guest vocals from James Jasta add some variation to their songs. At times the drums got some fills dynamic playing and did some cool drum fulls, but those don’t happen that often. It seems like this is a true passion project from the band but doesn't leave much sonically to make you want to come back like some older bands have done before and better.
