Only the strong will survive after listening to the trail of lies. With hard-hitting pits, great dog piling sing-alongs, and stage dive-worthy drums, you will be greatly satisfied with waiting this ling for a new trail of lies. Strength is the main theme of this album, and they do not come short here with bringing that string beefy sound they are known for. The drums sound so huge on this album and tribal to them that you can't help but let the animal in out and rage in the pit. The guitars and bass really complement each other, making each other sound extremely dense and big. They know how to throw in some nice little guitar or bass twangs to give the song some nice groove. The vocals sound less raspy and more refined and husky. Like he has gone through some trauma and come back harder with his vocal cords. The guest vocals, for the most part, feel uniquely utilized. The production sounds clear and layered well throughout this album; I'm thoroughly impressed with how good it sounds. The only criticism I could make is that some of the interludes could have simply been merged with the songs that came after them. They served a purpose, but not enough to deserve their own track, I felt. Also, at times the songs have some really similar breakdowns. They sound big and badass, but by the end of the album, they feel a bit derivative of one another. If you want to get ignorant and get stringers, then take the trail of lies route of life and fuck shit up!
