Softcult might have converted a new follower to their soft, whimsical shoegaze-style music. I was thoroughly engrossed in the mesmerizing atmosphere they are creating here with their deeply intimate lyrics and subdued playing. The lyrics are a standout point on this episode (from what I understood). They talk about sexual assault toward women, abuse from relationships, and being a terrible person to someone. These lyrics are well crafted and really seem like a really emotional release for the writers involved. You cannot walk away from this episode without feeling through the lyrics. The songs are really simple and effective in structure with how mild the drums are and the chill of the guitars. The bass is the most impressive thing in how deep you can feel the bass. The production was well balanced throughout the episode; there were only a few times when the vocals had too many effects on them, which in turn made it hard to hear the vocals at times. The vocals are sung very clearly and strongly; they got the chops for this style of music. This is a style of music that is refreshing, raw, and easy to put on repeat.
