Guts is exactly what the title promises—bold, honest, and unapologetic. Olivia leans into vulnerability throughout this album, pairing relatable lyrics with clear artistic growth, all without losing the core sound that first drew fans in. She still embraces that energetic pop-punk/pop-rock vibe she’s known for, and it suits her perfectly, giving the album plenty of punch and attitude.

But she’s not afraid to soften the edges, either. There are acoustic tracks and tender ballads sprinkled throughout, offering moments of introspection and contrast. This mix of styles broadens the album’s appeal, giving listeners both high-energy singalongs and quieter, reflective pieces. Vocally, Olivia delivers strong, expressive performances that are consistently sonically pleasing, and her voice carries both grit and warmth in equal measure.

That said, the album isn’t without its small pitfalls. The slower acoustic moments, while beautiful, can sometimes weigh down the pacing, and the transitions between upbeat tracks and mellow ones occasionally feel a little jarring. Some production choices lean a bit too quiet, which can make certain tracks feel subdued compared to the more dynamic numbers.

Still, the heart of Guts more than compensates for these minor flaws. Olivia tackles universal themes—love, heartbreak, self-discovery—in ways that are both fun and inventive, making her experiences feel accessible and genuine. At its best, the album strikes a balance between raw honesty and enjoyable pop craftsmanship.

Ultimately, Guts is an album that wears its heart on its sleeve. It’s gritty, it’s vulnerable, and it’s endlessly listenable—a record that proves Olivia has both the courage and the skill to push herself while keeping her signature sound intact.
