Are you ready for the reckoning? Whether you are or not gravitate is here to bring, and they are bringing it visibly whether you like it or not. This Australian metallic hardcore band is heaps hard in all the best ways. The vocals are savage like a rabid dog, the drumming is incredibly tight and tastefully played, the bass is dirty and heavy like you want it, and the riffs are intense and brutal, and they have a tight production behind them to make them sound like the second coming of Christ. The vocals just blew me away when they came in on "s.o.f," and just throughout this EP, they had a raw and commanding feel to them. Such a natural-sounding vocalist and can carry the band in a great way. The drumming is insanely hard; it just bangs away on that kit in a great way. The drums have a dense and incredible kickback feel to them, like on "s.o.f.” or “no way out." He is also able to through in some nice drum fills and great uses if the cymbals, like on “Condemned,”. The bass has such a heavy and dirty weight to its freaking mental how deep it sounds. Not once on this EP did it ever dip in quality or get drowned out by other instruments. It stood its ground and was beefy all the time, especially on “no way out." The riffs have a nice merallic feel to them and play quite dynamically by adding some pinch harmonics to spice things up, like on “no way out” and “h8 szn." There were a few moments where the guitars felt clubky but not enough to throw the EP off balance. The style of heavy and groovy songs on here will make any fan of hatebreed or pantera super happy. The production on this EP is absolutely phenomenal. The band sounds crisp and clear, but also heavy and hard as fuck. Nothing feels overproduced or underwhelming in anyway. Are you ready for the reckoning when gravitate comes to a town near you? You better be because this is a band you cannot pass up on.
